the va does not do dual diagnosis. so here's poor jeff. he's having suicidal thoughts, his parents don't know because they didn't tell his parents. and because he was heavy on alcohol, he was drinking a lot of beer, we can't treat you. we can't do a dual -- they didn't say we don't do a dual diagnosis. they said, when he gets off alcohol, then we can treat him. that's no way to treat a veteran that comes home in terrible pain. and beyond jeff's story they are, because of the constant deployments, they're taking sleeping pills. they're taking percocet, they're taking oxycontin. these are very dangerous drugs -- >> host: and addictive. >> guest: and addictive. without a medical overseer while they're overseas. they come home, that's what they get. they go to a physician, va physician, sleeping pills. >> host: in jeff's case they desperately tried to get him help. they didn't really understand post traumatic stress disorder at the time. his grandfather took him to the hospital. they tried to get him committed. >> guest: right. >> host: um, ul
